Joined vessel 30/7/22 so updating report as it comes around
* max pax for shut-down operations is 133 pax
* stbd Cummins digital panel is old one and no random alarms have been occurring with this panel in use,as per previous handover report, it is hard to read, however if you use the torch , daytime also, to read the information required it is much easier to read
* STBD main coolant is now a header tank with no expansion tank. At first inspection, because you can see plates and appears low, one would assume coolant needs to be added upon inspection , however all this does is spit it out overflow hose onto jabsco pump and into bilge to be continually mopped out. We aren't losing/using coolant at the moment so I Recommend checking coolant STBD main only, when hot ( temperature is only ever 70 degrees) soon as you shut down on arrival at destination for accurate level in header tank. Have mentioned to maintenance crew and suggested an expansion tank be fitted to sort this issue out, and we'll see what happens?
* port main engine is reaching coolant temperature of 88 degrees when loaded with passengers at the end of 7 min run @ 1750 rpm so keep an eye on temperature as you are underway with load , the rest of the time it runs a few degrees less , however for a 5 nautical mile steam the temperature reaches 87 degrees @1650 rpm spoke with Brody and he has it in hand and MRF submitted . In comparison stbd main reaches 70 degrees at best
19/8/22 port main Coolant circulating pump has leak , this morning temperature jumped straight up 89 degrees upon bringing vessel up to cruise speed and simulated thermostat fault when temperature jumped back to 72 degrees then slowly worked back to 88 degrees after 25 min run time, N Fleetwood suggested that this coolant circulating pump could be the fault rather than the thermostat, photo attached in MRF # 7866
22/8/22 port main coolant circulating pump changed out by maintenance, no change in port main engine overheating getting to 88 degrees in 4 mins of running at 1740rpm 74% throttle
* The filing cabinet key is broken and the half a key is on top of microwave that can be manipulated to access/close
* SRF sent 1/8/22 for new vacuum filter as there is no locking pin for the one that is onboard, a new locking pin comes with the filter, new filter received 5/8/22 have been using the filter and then cleaning it after use then putting the filter and locking pin back in the original box/packaging that the filter came with. it is located in the stores cupboard
* see email received 1/8/22 regarding refuelling hours at service wharf
* Both pfd's are due in August and 1 has been sent ashore for service 1/8/22 and a spare provided to the vessel from the office it is brand new and doesn't have a date tag on it. 12/8/22 2 x spare pfds from office provided to vessel while 1 is serviced and the other is tagged, I believe the first pfd sent ashore 1/8/22 failed inspection and we will end up with a brand new one
* iPad charger cord was u/s and Emma supplied the vessel with a new 3mt usb cord 2/8/22
* new bank of batteries installed stbd bank 1/8/22, old ones weren't faulty just 2 year changeout interval

* 4/8/22 stbd engine room fan u/s MRF submitted, new fan installed 6/8/22 all ok
* 4/8/22 cctv not working for both port + stbd engine rooms and stbd entry/boarding, MRF submitted, cctv operational again 7/8/22
* electrical inspection certificate is due 3/8/22 maintenance advised that Gene or Cindy organises this
* fire extinguisher service due in August. ESA attended and serviced fire systems 12/8/22 , certificates to provided to vessel and updated in certificate register in Dataweb once received
* house radio is transmitting with very low volume and hollow sound and has been reported to me by several other vessels now for the last few days, so MRF submitted 4/8/22
* the wheelhouse house DC battery selector has on 3 occasions from 30/7/22 - 6/8/22 has had faulty switch symptoms giving flickering lights and tank gauges on startup and manipulating the switch seemed to come good, however on 6/8/22 was occurring for 15 seconds or more, maintenance attended the vessel and did full test and found contact issue on bank 1 and no problem at startup on 7/8/22, fault was apparent on startup am 8/8/22, video on iPad of fault, email sent with video attached 8/8/22, fault occurred 9/8/22 + 10/8/22. New switch for wheelhouse battery selector fitted 10/8/22, no fault on startup 11/8/22 onwards, should be all ok now
* 7/8/22 The top NUC navigation light is u/s MRF submitted. New light assembly fitted 12/8/22 and all working ok when tested 13/8/22
* The survey certificate expires 8/8/22. The in and out of water survey has been completed by oceaneer marine services and the paperwork is in the survey section of certificates in the SMS, I have been advised by management that we are waiting from AMSA for a current survey certificate to be supplied to the vessel and I have requested 2 x copies , 1 for the wall and 1 for the certificate section of the SMS , certificate register on dataweb for this vessel has been updated with dates shown when survey was completed
* 250 hr service done on both port 28310 hrs and stbd main 26806 hrs engines and 250 hr service on genset @ 3783 hrs
* pacific conquest has been doing bed levelling operations around the FLNE and APLNG started 14/8/22. No wash required
* see email thread 15/8/22 regarding CP3 pontoon grounding on spring low tides , request for masters to monitor effectiveness of bedlevelling operations with pacific conquest and to report any relative observations with future spring tides
* The grab bag now has a torch placed inside contents of flare kit yellow container 18/8/22
* 18/8/22 The toilet has been closed off out of service @ 0625 hrs , water supply issues to bowl, and also discharge from bowl to tank issues, maintenance attended and still out if service for operations commencing 19/8/22 , maintenance will attend after am runs 19/8/22 , maintenance attended and replaced activation button and valve and toilet back in service for pm runs 19/8/22
* keep an eye on the battery chargers in the engine rooms, on a few occasions after changing over power they have gone into a scrolling mode with the indicator lights scrolling in a clockwise direction, all that is needed is to press the mode button once and they fire back up to chsrge once again, it is random and both sides can do it , however it is only 1 side at a time usually and has occurred about 5 times in 22 days, It can be monitored easily by watching the battery volts on the analogue gauges on the dashboard, when the ignition key is switched on prior to starting main engine, if it is reading 24 volts or less the battery charger needs to be rebooted
* 19/8/22 The sign that is attached to the western side gangway @ CP1 has been broken and given to maintenance for repair
MRF submitted
* each time the fire pumps have been run there is initial air being displaced then the flow comes good after a short while so, may need an MRF if it becomes worse, running the port side first seems to displace air from manifold a bit quicker
* sanitary bin due 23/8/22 changed out 22/8/22
see flagged email from Willie (23/08) in regards too 0540 operational pax deboarding palmcat and trying to board canaipa following 0530 drop off.
