21-4-22 Direction to use mouse when berthing, see email from Spooner
23-4-22 Maintenance changed out steering and bucket sensors on starboard side, bucket sensors on port side, starboard main engine coolant flush and also the thermostat. All systems working fine but been advised that we are still waiting on the hydraulic valves for each jet unit so we are still to utilise the mouse while berthing(if practicable) unto these are sourced and changed out. Once changed out there will be a review of the mouse procedure and may revert back to master discretion.
24-4-22 blowing 40knts side on at CP1 and mouse was useless, not enough thrust to get along side so I utilise the sticks in adverse conditions. Did call Willie and advise of the situation and he said you must berth safely and if I must use the sticks to get alongside SAFELY then he has no issues with using the sticks. Obviously in calm conditions he would like us to use the mouse for the time being.
26-4-22 port void strainer cleaned by maintenance, Brodie advised they will be onboard every Monday where possible to clean this strainer.
26-4-22 While transiting on 1830 ops run to CP1 we noticed a vibration in starboard jet, attempt to back flush at CP1 but no success. Returned to marina on port main only and had maintenance inspect on arrival. It appears the jet sucked up a length of old rope wrapping itself around the impeller. All debris removed and back operating as normal.
27-4-22 ESR sent for new ships compass as per amsa inspection, ensure compass swing booking is made before compass is changed out.
2-5-22 heads up that the vessels orange pfds will be due for service, one is due in June and one is due July
5-5-22 Requested red and white access chain at cp3 to be replaced, been confirmed but still waiting for it to be done
7-5-22 Conico to asses Covid procedures on 13-5-22 so the mask wearing requirements may be coming to an end hopefully.
9-5-22 Been advised that the Bk is doing a harbour tour on 25-5-22, please read flagged email for details
10-5-22 Jen Deleon on day shift had an alarm sound twice ‘steering stuck’ in port jet. Cleared the alarms both times and proceeded. Maintenance came down and re-calibrated jets and checked them over, all good for our last night with no alarms. (I have not had an issue with any alarms or jet problems throughout my swing on night shift)
