Handover notes Brahminy Kite 1/11/21
* Pacific Titan and Norfolk have been bedlevelling and surveying around the vicinity of gas plants no need for communication, just pass with no wash
* gas detector has been serviced and is back on board now
* main engines had 250hr service which was check and change anodes as required, oil is changed at 500 hrs with new engines, have only added 2lt of oil to port main engine, and 1 lt to stbd main engine. Genset had service on 19/10/21 @6700 hrs. The Genset thermo fan was replaced on 25/10/21, the oil cooler on Genset is still leaking , have been changing out pads regularly in Genset bay, The port main has a new turbo ordered, there is a slight exhaust leak, have spun the air filter around so it is sucking soot from a different area.
* Still running with batteries paralleled to prevent voltage alarms as per request from maintenance
* msds sheets have been updated as best we can, we received 24 new prints, however some that are due to expire soon are the current issue
* anchor winch capstan and gypsy were removed degreased and repacked with new grease, all ok
* new pipe on bilge manifold was fabricated and installed to replace pipe with holes in it
* electrical test and tag completed on 19/10/21
* new set of trumpet horns on the roof, on a couple of occasions the horn has not operated when the button is pushed, every other time it works ok
* Fire certificates state that FM200 is overdue for pressure test, MRF was submitted and rejected, I believe that they will be done in November sometime
* No masks are required, however Covid seating plan remains with max pax @ 92
* port hydraulic drive belts were loose and have been tensioned up
* Willie is doing audits with all vessels, dayshift crews, similar to what G Austin used to do with us
* Nightshift crews to complete self audit assessment soon after commencing swing
* Eastern end of service fuel has been down for sometime now, use western end for refuelling
* aft deck clears/covers have been resecured with new sail track and fittings, hatches and battery box have latches that can be secured now
* stbd fire pump was loose as when I joined vessel, tightened up 4 bolts where the bronze impeller housing attaches to the bearing with 13mm spanner, checked port side fire pump and the bolts needed tightening as well , just monitor and if they come loose again we will need some threadlocker applied
* replaced faded laminated passenger emergency procedures cards throughout vessel

* Replaced 4 white rubber end caps for ladder up to roof and for base of rails on the roof
* sanitary bin changed out 2/11/21
* there was a fitting in the port fuel locker that was a reducer fitting when I joined vessel, not sure what it was for? It has been placed in the locker on the service wharf with all the other fittings as it smelt like it was used for diesel

* I was speaking with a Conocophillips employee that had an adhoc ferry on one weekend and he said they have a new policy where if they have something to attend to on a work day, that instead of taking the whole day off for a personal day they could do half days without losing any leave, so I guess we could be getting more adhoc runs on weekends.
* New security guard at FLNE his name is James Kelly, Jared has transferred to the island
* There is a broken lifebuoy line over at FLNE pontoon after a storm blew it from its mount, a hazard card has been submitted and ConocoPhillips are aware
* Sealink is not authorised to transfer ships crew, keep an eye on dataweb entries, we had a couple of runs on a weekend entered into Dataweb and Willie chased it up and confirmed that we are not to transfer ships crew
* We have loads of paper towels and toilet paper we have received a double up on last stores of paper towels
* Air conditioners are being serviced Thursday 4/11/21 see email 28/10/21
* Degreased both engine rooms removed a lot of aluminium shavings
* karly float hydrostatic units due to expire 30th November.
