BUNKERING; We must follow the new procedure. I did send an email stating that the new procedure shouldn’t really apply to us on BK, and in some ways I feel the new procedure actually leaves us more open to a spill.. but we must follow the procedure because if we don’t and we have a spill it will be very hard to argue with msq on why it happened and Willie was clear that we are to follow the sms. So; we must fill port tank from port side and stbd tank from stbd side.. but REMEMBER when you take the nozzle to the other side, you have to make sure the cap you just filled from is put back on before filling the other side or it will overflow . You must make sure ALL 3 other caps are on and tight when filling, if you don’t, you will have a fuel spill. I only stat this because when filling and you move to the other side to fill, it is VERY easy to forget about the cap you just filled from. I have marked the caps we fill from with a ✔️ and a cross on the ones theoretically we will never use again. It might be an idea to see if we can put a cable tie on these redundant caps just so no one can accidentally fill the wrong side from the other side, because if that side is already full, and you fill the wrong side, fuel will come out the breather on the other side and spill. Any problems understanding any of the above give a call! 0421568732 ... hope it’s not too confusing!
New engines are going really well. No oil leaks and water leaks on elbow pipes from fire system are now fixed. We had a problem with port side oil pressure sender and we had it replaced, it was showing low oil pressure on the gauges but the engines had the correct pressure from the gauge hooked up to the engine. The gauge is still hooked up to the port engine, hopefully maintenance come and get it soon!
I have put MRF’s in for the voltage problems on start up if batteries are not paralleled, and for long start stbd engine sometimes when turning the key. Check out MRF’s before putting more in, but make sure you put an MRF in immediately if there is anything wrong with the new engines, it is super important we sort any issues ASAP for warranty, Willie was adamant about this.. and LOG everything!
Had a couple of big clean ups in the engine rooms... still getting swarf each time 🤷♂️ God knows where it keeps appearing from!
We are waiting for genset coolant, keep an eye on the trolley at the top of the ramp.
2 of the yellow markers at the end of the swing basin at FLNE are now gone, it’s actually better for us, it’s the 2 that were closest to CP1, the one half way out and the end one.
