STARBOARD STERN GLAND
Starboard stern gland. It was detected 1/8/21 when performing weekly checks, that the STB gland sea strainer was dry and a burnt rubber residue staining the strainer. See photo email Sunday 1st. This has probably been caused from lack of water flow through the strainer, possibly from not being blead properly during last inspection.
Presently there isn’t any noticeable issue with the gland, and Brody has advised to monitor and check again on 2/8/21 morning, and that strainer is blead of air before closing
It is likely that the gland is partially damaged. I advise that RPM be kept to minimum for Ops where possible.
