The Genset has been taking a couple of goes to start in the cool mornings.
The fire inspections were done on Friday 25th. Also they accidentally set off the fm200 on port side. The cylinder was replaced.
I was having trouble transmitting on the centre radio. Maintenance replaced the port side radio by mistake. They said they will get another one for the centre. So..I have been just listening to 15 on the centre radio and listening to 13 on the port side radio. Switching between 13 and 15 to transmit on. I did it like this because mostly communication with other vessels is with Tugs since our vessels are on 2. (Hope that makes sense). Also stopped the feedback.
Maintenence crew removed the excess oil from the mains that were overfilled by maintenance at the end of your last swing.
Electrical inspections due in July, have sent a reminder to Cindy.
James Grant utilising Torresian for runs Monday 28/6 and Tuesday 29/6. Boat hopping and changes to our shift have made handover clean a bit challenging but we did the best we could with the time we had.
one of the crew life jackets is due for test in July but I haven't been able to take it up.
the leak on the Stb main still hasn't been fixed. Vacuumed out raw water and removed soaker pads. The soaker pads under the sump were salt encrusted and like cardboard. They were very difficult to remove so I didn't replace them. Engine rooms could do with a flush out with fresh water after the leak has been repaired. (This may have been done the night we swung off??).
Relevant emails flagged (it's been a bit quiet on that front).
hope you are well and have a good swing. Stay Covid safe.
