Canaipa handover notes 27/4/21
Please read flagged emails particularly the one received 27/4/21 relating to keeping informed of sanitiser and mask supplies
COVID seating restrictions have been lifted as of 27/4/21, old laminated signs are in the stores cupboard stuck back to back so could be used again if required
Main engines run at 1650 rpm , Same leaks in main engines as per usual, pads being changed for Stbd main engine daily
Stores order submitted 27/4/21, so more rags and oil spill pads on the list, should be enough to get through until they arrive
There is a raw water leak in the bilge manifold when fire pumps are run on the suction line , MRF has been submitted
After removing the keys for Prestart about a week ago, the barrel in the Stbd ignition wouldn’t let the ignition be turned on, it took 14 mins of tapping and wriggling, lubing to get it to go. We still only just made our first run , so just be aware. MRF was submitted however engineers couldn’t fault and rejected MRF
Genset is still running rough / missing when no load on. As the A/C units when I was on canaipa last swing would kick in it would come good. However this is not the case now the temperatures are cooler in the mornings and evening and Genset is running with a bit of air in the system running rough / missing. I have been bleeding the injector lines on the fuel pump when the load is on the Genset to make it run properly using a 17 mm spanner and a rag to prevent diesel spilling. This has worked for me. Maintenance have attended and think something is wrong with the governor? They have suggested instead of bleeding injector line to instead manually operate lever on top aft end of fuel pump to increase fuel to engine. This has worked for the last 2 days however load needs to be on Genset for it to come good. If you pull the lever too far it will stop the engine however.
LCD display on port ecu is on its way out, you can still make out the readings however
Degreased cabin and aft decks to remove lots of oil stains on deck everywhere, I have been double bagging the blue rectangle bucket when changing oil soaker pads and this seems to prevent oil stains
Bye for now
