19/8 I have had an incident where while reaching for the radio volume I slipped off the Stainless rail and landed on the joystick bending it. MRF 5963.The control panel was replaced 20/8. (Yes very funny 🤣 but it hurt!) Hence the non slip tape.
22/8 During weekly checks found the Stb fwd hatch seal was hanging off. MRF 5964.
24/8. There is an issue with the MRF’s for Torresian not displaying all MRF’s. Ref email from Gene. So I've listed them below as I went.
25/8. Route 1 entered from the waypoints already created on plotter. Route as stated in the SMS is to be followed and significant deviations are to be recorded (ie. using the Clinton main instead of the bypass). The approach to GL4 is via the northern side of JC3 and when queried, well clarification was unobtainable. Refer to email thread between vessel and Willie on 26/8.
26/8. Sullage hose still sucking air MRF 5968 (also was MRF'ed months ago).
Maintenance on board- replace Stb Fire pump clutch switch, Replace compass (not yet swung but seems fine), reglued in the Stb fwd deck hatch seal.
28/8. RPMFB E1 Alarm still sounds almost every morning just after steering checks. Have emailed Gene as Saun was unable to rectify two swings back.
30/8. Stb main dropped All it’s coolant while we were on break. Brody in attendance. Brody has requested that the coolant level on the site glass be kept around half way to allow for expansion. I have marked the Stb sight glass in order to monitor usage. Seems to be using very little. 30/8 Shore power plug weather proof cap broken. New shore power lead 7/9.
Dredging and bed leveling see email from Willie 1/9.
A8 bouy has been replaced with a pile beacon. Also CB6 cardinal has been replaced with a pile with a flashing yellow but the temporary bouy is still present as well. The Green bouy C1 tends to be roaming up and down stream with the tide and has been repositioned several times during this swing so keep an eye out for that.
As you can see RUOK day has come again refer to email from Cindy 1/9.
I have requested a new fuel card and it should arrive this week (your first week)
In my opinion the helm position is slightly out. When the control panel shows center of helm the vessel wonders to Stb. I have taped the wheel where the vessel runs true, although this also may be slightly out but it’s pretty close.
The SDS folder has been filed into Alphabetical order as it should be and Dividers placed in to make it more user friendly.
We have a new Sanitation product Spring Rain. The new Spring rain stickers for the existing Forest Pine spray bottles are in the black folder. We’re just using up the last bit of the Forest Pine now and will refill with Spring Rain.
A brand new SMS is on board and will require your signatures.
4/9 Stb aft roof leaking on pax. MRF 5979.
6/9 We scrubbed the black line of coal dust off from around the edges of the cabin on Sunday. Not sure if it will still be clean on Wednesday though??? I took some photos of before and after.
I hung the R U OK banner across the bow but found it completely blocked my view of directly ahead by at least 50m. So I put it across the back.
We have had two instances of Turtles mating in the Clinton bypass and main channels. (One witnessed and one reported by Bruce master). They just floating around with the tide so keep your eyes peeled for them.
7/9 The RPMFB ALARM changed from E1 to E2 today. Emailed Gene re this and our shore power lead weather cap. A new shore power lead was in place before we got back to the Marina.
New Engineers log under helm.
I've been having trouble getting the photos to load onto the Trip log particularly in the Marina. And now this won't update 🙄
