Greetings,
There are few things to be aware of / to update you on...
1. There is a Registration Error that is coming up on the Hamilton Units that reads "REGST 51" on the panel. This is due to the fitment of a new jet unit control module to the starboard side. Everything works as per normal; the error is just because the unit has not been registered with Hamilton online yet. Brody / Shaun are aware and onto it.
2. All MPM up to date and no urgent stores though it will pay to check Tuesday incase items are consumed by crews or shore based maintenance.
3. See flagged emails, no extreme surprises there. A few memos - mostly stuff that has been said before / common sense but obviously there are some issues Management is responding to.
4. Lifejacket demonstrations have been okay. We have been getting random passengers to demo them for us especially on the smaller runs, bit of an eye opener for a few of them. Last completed on Thursday.
5. The small card on dash to assist with compass checks has been updated with the new deviations. New Emergency radio calling card fitted also.
6. Had a tidy up with placarding in wheelhouse.
7. Chart updates were checked at start of my swing as per current Memo.
8. Fuel should be around half full for you and water nearly full, sullage 40%.
9. All machinery and electrics are running fine at time of handover. There is a small raw water leak on the mixer elbow of the genset that I have MRF'd. Emailed to follow up.
10. Keep an eye on port jet unit control oil level, there is a leak evident.
11. Hydrostatic releases for Carly floats are due for replacement 2/2020, have ESR’d for replacements.
12. ESR’d new lettering for the life ring in wheelhouse.
13. Please note that port main engine coolant level was over full my first day on vessel. Removed some to allow for expansion as per manufacturers’ specifications. These engines do not burn or leak coolant.
All the best...
Regards,
Tony.
