Greetings,
It is most likely that Torresian will be going up to the slip tomorrow, 9/10/18.
There are however a few things to be aware of / to update you on...
1. All the usual jobs have been done. Please let me know of any issues.
2. There is a Registration Error that is coming up on the Hamilton Units that reads "REGST 51" on the panel. This is due to the fitment of a new jet unit control module to the starboard side. Upon swinging on to the vessel it was noted on the first run from the Marina to GL3 that the starboard engine was running irregularly and not holding a steady RPM. There were a few items checked however it seems like this has fixed the issue. Everything works as per normal; the error is just because the unit has not been registered with Hamilton online yet. Brody / Shaun are aware and onto it.
3. I have MRF'd a number of things at Rob's instruction for the slipping. All is in emails and records on DataWeb.
4. All MPM up to date and no urgent stores though it will pay to check before coming off the slip incase items are consumed by crews or shore based maintenance.
5. See flagged emails, no extreme surprises there. A few memos - mostly stuff that has been said before / common sense but obviously there are some issues Management is responding to.
6. Lifejacket demonstrations have been okay. We have been getting random passengers to demo them for us especially on the smaller runs, bit of an eye opener for a few of them.
7. The small card on dash to assist with compass checks has been updated with the new deviations. New Emergency radio calling card fitted also.
8. Had a tidy up with placarding in wheelhouse.
9. Chart updates were checked at start of swing as per current Memo.
10. Have tried to minimise weight for the slip so fuel should be around half full for you and water half, sullage empty.
11. All machinery and electrics are running fine at time of handover. There is a small raw water leak on the mixer elbow of the genset that I have MRF'd.
12. Have had a few different deckies throughout the swing and trained a new employee Luke Tickner.
13. 0700 run is back to James Grant on weekends with Bruce Crew transfer at 0640 instead of 0645 facilitiating this possibility. There are issues on the run schedule in the wheelhouse but I am sure this will be rectified with the changes pending with Sunrise on the job.
Other than that we had an IMCA Audit with Melvin from Santos. It seemed to go well. I addressed the two issues he brought up namely the PSP tape that was worn on battery box and a faded emergency / evacuation plan on the aft deck. A copy of the previous audit is in the starboard side of the wheelhouse. Hopefully we can get an update of the new report once issued.
Please call with any questions or concerns.
Highest regards,
Tony.
