All prestart checks must be completed at start of shift, if oil and coolant checks are differed to later in the day due to hot handover this needs to be added in the comments section of the prestart checklist on Dataweb as well as written into the engineers log as per email from Graeme 19/8
Received another email from management reminding everyone to complete compass and stability checks in ships log daily, each shift.
Liam, I put an MRF in for the fire hose length. Previously you mentioned something in regards to the length of hose after I had it replaced due to only being 19mts in length. We done multiple drills for management to show the issue of having the 5mts of excess hose when extended and the outcome is that the hose will remain at 30mts. To overcome the excess hose on the bow run the hose around the battery box and up the port side walkway of the main cabin.....
All life jackets have been removed from under all the seats and extended all straps, unclipped all fastening clips and put lights on the same side of jackets, where we could. All jackets have been folded up and packed in the storage bags the same way. When/if removing jackets from under seats can we please repack them in the same way as they came out. Jackets on the back have not been removed, was waiting on further info from management in regards to replacing these.
Liam, the MOC you put in for the bilge pumping via spigot has been reworked by Graeme and Luke and should be back in the SMS soon.

keep an eye on the battery charger under the dash, the MXT14 unit for the battery bank out the back deck. A few times I’ve heard a high pitch whine through the speakers and the charger has been in fault, turning the unit off and back on resets it. Also if turning the house bank off it seemed throw the charger into fault too.
