Hi Ross,
Welcome back.
The big news this swing has been the life jacket situation, you would have received emails.
All Parangool life jackets have been stowed with the straps fully extended. The issue seemed to be that when the straps were pulled down between the front and back of the jacket, the passengers were having trouble opening to place over their heads. The life jackets under the seats have the straps loose. The life jackets stowed in over head lockers have the straps fully extended then tucked inside with the clip fastened in front to stop the straps becoming entangled. It may pay to pull out one of each so you can see what I mean.
We have also been asked to do two life jacket demos a week and at our discretion to invole a passenger. I have been asking passengers who I have a repour with. I have my deckhand up forward and the passenger at the midship rack. I have also voice recordered a speel on my phone and have been playing it over the P.A system but it up to you how you would like to deal with this.It has been a hot topic this swing, expect Graeme to join you for a run to monitor.
We have been covering Trojan runs of a night. Willie has been advising me of these runs via email and adding them to the Parangool runs on dataweb.Willie has asked us to record the gas ships name next to the run.
The stern camera is dropping out and has been MRF ed.
On Friday the13th, the genset stalled out a couple of times when the low pressure bypass button was let go and it was necessary to hold the button down for elongated amount of time when geset first started. Brodie looked at this on Saturday morning and asked us to report any further issues. He has a part on order. The genset is not enjoying the cold weather, it pays to allow it to warm up before placing any load onto it.
