The base mount on the float switch in stbd main engine room is snapped off MRF in for this. When checking the alarms you may have to get down there and manually push it back down. Shore based crew will fix this on the next maintenance day.
check flagged emails, especially yesterday’s one about donning the lifejackets.
Stbd heat exchanger/header tank was changed out so no more leaks from the heat exchanger.
I submitted a couple of changes to Graeme regarding the drills in the SMS, mainly collision, I’m sure he will go over these with you, more changes in the order things are written than actual change, anyway have a look and if you agree, great, if not then add your thoughts, I won’t be offended haha!!
Also had a good play with the bilge pumping manifold system, we found, what we think, a slightly better way to bilge a flooded void, but once again Graeme will have a look with you and if you don’t like it or think it’s fine the way it is, we won’t be offended!!! Just suggestions so if you get a chance have a look at it and see what you think!!
still pretty much a permanent ‘no wash’ at Clinton for the Oxley, it moves up and down the berths from 1-4 so just be aware they will be there somewhere!
we did an anchor drill with Graeme... and it got jammed up.. first time it’s got proper jammed for us! It jammed when it goes from rope to chain, to try and mitigate it happening again I tapered the splice onto the chain and taped it up, seems to help.
Remember to log even the smallest of incidents or anything that happens on a voyage that’s even slightly different to the normal, I had a boat over taking me this swing so I slowed down just as a precaution even though I had right of way, then went again, I didn’t log it because I didn’t think much of it, next minute I’m getting reports from pax back through the grapevine that I nearly hit a beacon, then next minute I actually struck something??!!🤷♂️🤷♂️😳😂... far out it’s just crazy what people can actually make up and try put on you, so yeah just log EVERYTHING to cover yourself!
