Hi John,
hope you hade a good swing off and wish you a good week on this last swing of yours!!
Vessel came back on from Urangan towards the beginning of the swing and as you can imagine it was in a really poor state. The vessel was completely covered in dust and overspray from the hull, we gave it a really good scrub but that stuff won’t come off, the windows in particular they’re like sandpaper, I did my best to make them as cleaned as possible but they are still crap.
A lot of things were out of date and a few Mrf’s have been put in.
There is a leak in the Pt jet room, from the outer jet housing, MRF is in.
All certificates are up to date now and have been replace both in the SMS and on the wall, we are still waiting on the unirail certificate, because Bullivant came and checked it all but there is a plaque missing from Uniline and until that has been replaced they won’t realease one ( see correspondence from Annie in the flagged email).
Electrical and Mega test due on 26/06, this has already been booked with Aces.
The gas detector is not onboard, we think it went away for service before the boat went to Harvey Bay and it might have failed the test, not sure, waiting to hear back from Willie on that one.
The depth sounder played up on me a couple of times and one morning it wouldn’t start, I MRFed and then in the afternoon it turned on by itself, we think it might be on it’s way out.
The Aft Fire Damper on Stbd side has been MRFed, during monthly checks we had to pull the hatch apart because the pin wouldn’t reach the latch that holds it in place, we bent up the latch and the pin just goes in a couple of millimeters, enough to hold it in for now, but they will need to reposition it as soon as possible.
Dvd player was playing up, and has been replaced with a new small unit. The old one is still in there at the moment, used as a shelf..
All charts have been updated and chart 244 and 245 have been replaced with new ones.
While we are waiting to get a new Electronic Chart shortcut keyboard to replace the Foruno one on the dashboard, we can use the Key “F8” on the computer keyboard as a MOB button.
See flagged emails.
Graeme Austin will be onboard to oversee life jacket demo in the 0630 run.
Have a good one,
Ale.
