Hi Ross,
Welcome back.
Sorry to report that the Stbd main is leaking pretty badly. Its dropping aprox 3 litres if oil a week and lossing aprox 4 litres of coolant a week. Needless to say we are going through alot of soaker pads.
The Port main is loosing approx 1 litre of oil per week. Both mains seem to be happiest when oil level is at three quarters rather than full as it just drops more rapidly if full. I have placed an order for 20 litres of main engine oil. There has been abit of a delay over the aeaster long w/end, you may need to chase it up.
The Port side deck hatch for the engine room is not sealing properly on the aft edge. The edge is sitting slightly proud and water is entering the engine room if hose is used by this edge. An MRF has been submitted and I have discussed my concerns with Brodie. We pulled 60 litres of fresh water out of the engine room after the aft deck was scrubbed. If water is able the enter then so will air in the case of a fire. I have email management in regards to my concerns.
As the monthly maintenance checks are due on the 25th April, I made a start on them for you. They are 85% completed but could you complete and then the amendments will reflect the date of completion on the 25th April.
As part of monthly checks, I have emailed management re non skid on aft deck with photos attached to show continued deterioration. I also ordered a rubber mat to cover the bald patch at the aft entrance to the Port engine room. Please be aware that this area is a slip hazard until the mat is recieved and utilized.
Working at height sky hook testing was due end of April. I notified Willie via email in my first week. He forwarded this onto Annie and asked for it to be booked in. Again there could have been a few delays due to Easter.
We no longer need a cert to bunker at night
There is an updated Standard for Commercial Marine Activities - Gladstone Region. Dated April 2019 onboard for your info.
Vessel truck washed, interior decks scrubbed, scuff marks removed from hull, luggage rack vaccumed, microwave & fridge cleaned. Engine rooms cleaned up on Tuesday night although they will look bad again by Wednesday night.
Have ordered a new ships & engineering log to be picked up from office, you still have over a weeks of empty log onboard. Ordered a new Garbage record book also.
Stbd midships aft door latch needs a new spring. MRF 485 entered.
