We are having some issues with a possible electrical fault from the jet to control unit at the helm, possible sticking rely, a multitude of different errors have come up on the display in the last few days from INOOR 61 (which we lost all controls) to ‘OORJ1’, ‘FAULT’, ‘CABLE’, and ‘MODULE’.. on Saturday the 30th on the 1830 run, coming into berth at CP1 with 28pax, when switching from sticks to mouse the OOR61 alarm/fault went off and we lost controls, I was able to stop the vessel on Emergency controls, once stopped I switched back to mouse control to check and it worked (although the fault was still on the display but muted) and berthed on the mouse. It was a good feeling to feel the Emergency controls engage I’ll tell ya!!!, So just be aware there is some problems here and take extra caution when berthing in case this happens again, if it had of been really windy or going to fast or on a bad angle or anything like that it could have easily been a collision with a pontoon or land!! Make sure your good to go on Emergency controls people!!!!!
port outboard strainer and Genset strainer where unusually dirty, clogged up on this swing, we did have a bout of huge tides where the pontoon was dry docked at cp3 so I assume that port side was sucking up crap from the bottom, next time it’s mega tides we should remember this and monitor them.
new electrical switch board installed and shore power polarity (red/green light) box on 27/3.
Port fire pump leaking again, Brodie changed the impeller and it has been good since but now the STB one is dripping! Next maintenance hopefully they will replace the impeller on STB pump too.
Stbd main engine has had new injectors installed along with a new starter motor, the new injectors was a hope to reduce the vibration but has it hasn’t really helped and the vessel still gets vibration at various speeds at various times 🤷♂️
Both mains serviced 25/3
Engine hatch covers replaced.
Some passengers have complained about the large pencil fender being tied up out the back on the back rail, apparently it impedes half of a seat and squashes everyone up if the back seat is full, we just put the fender at the back of the engine box now, no biggie!
We have ordered 2 new carpeted doorway mats for the cabin area, should come with stores on Monday.
The new fire hose is too long, (30meters) when run to the bow it’s all kinked up in the isle and would be a worry putting it under load like that, you can run it around the boat but practically this isn’t what you would do if you need to get the hose to the bow in a hurry it also would go around seats that way and in the way of pax, there’s an MRF in to make it the right length (I wasn’t game to cut the new hose!!)
