Greetings Ross and Tara,
I trust you're both keeping well and are well rested for the swing ahead.
A few things to be aware of:
1. All machinery and electrics are running 100% at time of handover. Generator service completed 12/3/19 (Shaun).
2. Charts updated to latest NTM.
3. See flagged emails, especially: a) Regarding the different runs due to Santos Power Out filter change job that will affect your runs today (13/3/19); schedule in the port side of wheelhouse. b) Regarding tug Oxley and Barge / No Wash behind RG Tanna area. Andrew Joseph is the Skipper / Owner of Oxley, good fella and very approachable if you need to call him up. There are a few others for you to 'enjoy' in there too...
4. All the usual bits and pieces have been looked after on board including detailed wheelhouse, scrub down, scrub floors, vacuum seats, detail inside and out, toilets etc. etc. etc., had a good session in engine rooms to bring them back to acceptable and vacuumed out bilges. Please let me know of any issues or areas you think we can improve or that we missed for next time.
5. Full as possible of fuel and fresh, sullage almost empty (50l).
6. No urgent stores. Check up in roof before ordering stores as there are some goods up there. Will be a few items coming this Thursday to replenish. Order some more interleaf paper towel soon as it’s running low in reserve stocks onboard.
7. Had a bit of an audit on mooring lines at all our docking locations and replaced a number of lines and replaced tag lines on all springs / eyed lines.
8. Fridge and microwave cleaned and disinfected.
9. All MPM up to date as at 12/3/19.
10. Since you were last on (I think) I have printed and stuck up a Compass Bearing card to make Deviation Checks (daily) a bit easier and more thorough. One error on the top line which you’ll no doubt pick up. Have asked for a new one to be printed with correct figure of 299.2 degrees magnetic.
13. I haven't put any new marks on the hull this swing, suggest you take photos start and end of swing as I do to cover your backside.
14. Hand soap has been going off before it’s used therefore we have only been topping up to half way in new dispensers you ordered a few swings back.
17. Please ensure all air conditioner units are switched off for a minimum of two minutes before changing from shore to ships power or vice versa.
18. If sullage gets over 25% and it’s rough the smell comes up the sinks so best to discharge in rough weather we have found.
19. There are MRFs in for the engine driven fire pumps that have small leaks from face plates and also the starboard boarding area LED spotlight which is corroded and snapped off during a run (has been temporarily fixed).
20. Upholstery cleaners onboard to do seats 12/3/19 and on your first day back (13/3/19) Wazza and offsider from Kemptons will be visiting to fit clears to port and stbd side of vessel. We stayed back a little one morning to spin the boat around so they could measure up the stbd side. They advise that Windex is the best thing to clean them with apparently.
21. The SMS has a heap of new photos and amendments for you to look over (Sections 6 and 7 are the crux) and sign the acknowledgement page.
22. House battery is to be left on at all times to power cameras for CCTV. I turn off everything else possible overnight as I am sure you will discover when you come aboard tomorrow morning (including engine room lights and anchor winch breaker and isolate nav light / VHF supply stbd side dash next to Radar Screen).
23. Until further notice we are completing the 1400 run for James Grant as per the schedule and break is now from 0845-1300hrs. Regarding this roster, I just have to say that it knocked Ryan and I a little more than we expected. The only thing we can fathom as the cause is that generally after 6-7 hours sleep overnight we didn't feel tired till 1130-1200 on break so on the old roster we used to be able to have a good 1 and a 1/2 hour sleep before returning to work at 1400 whereas now you start to feel tired and then it's time to go back to work... hope you guys find something that works for you to manage any fatigue you encounter.
24. Graeme printed and laminated some brace position cards that are up in various display areas in the vessel following the findings of an APLNG Audit.
25. A PCB board in the forward main cabin air conditioner condenser unit was replaced first week back following an error, has been working fine since.
26. New TV tuner under dash times out every 4 hours so if you turn it off and on after the 1610 run you will avert the risk of the TVs timing out for your safety DVD. Remote port side wheelhouse.
27. Cindy is organising a whole heap of new items to refresh expiring items for first aid kit. No doubt they will be passed onto you soon.
As always give me ahoy, preferably after 0600, with any pressing questions. I'll be up early tomorrow if you need to chat.
Poor little boat must be due for a slip soon, plenty of growth and feels pretty sluggish to me. Have sent emails to no avail.
Safe swing to you both, will try pop down for a cuppa one day.
Highest regards,
Tony (& Ryan).
