Hi James and Dan.
Welcome back.
30/12/17. Slipway maintenance day. Brodie changed out the thermostat and changed the kell cooler. Spirit crew and Andy/ Jodie painted antifoul on the hull. The vessel has been running great at 85% load the temps are sitting steady on 79 degrees and with the tide we are getting 25 knots. Even with 50 pax against tide we are getting 22 knots with 85% load. Brodie did a great job.
Genset had an issue on the 31/12/17. It was failing to start. It was reading engine fault " oil pressure short". Brodie replaced the resistor in the oil pressure circuit. Its been running great since. It may happen again if the resistor is touching anything or just gets overloaded by earthing. Also, the flexible coolant return line was damaged while sitting against a hot bracket. It has been taped away from further damage and has been MRF for replacement.
The following MRF have been submitted.
*Genset is Running rough. There is alot of vibration and it is noiser than normal. Temps, oil pressure normal. Speed a little higher than normal. I have checked the tightness of the engine mounts as requested by maint team but am unable to visually inspected the rubber mounts completely.
* stbd aft air conditioning unit has a fault code u4. We looked this up and a u4 is a faulty transmission between the indoor and the outdoor units. The recommendation was to switch off at breaker and restart to reset. This failed to fix the problem. It is blowing coolish air but the air is not as cold as it should be. Indoor model sf2/080. Daikin. Mick air con guy has ordered a new circuit board for the outdoor unit. It should take 4-5 days from the 15/01/18.
* Fire extinguisher on the Stbd bow has a rusty base of the extinguisher. Bracket to secure extinguisher is missing. A budgee cord has been used to secure.
* MRF 3744 at Willie request. Refer to email sent 15/01/18. Stbd fwd air con unit dripping.
*MRF 3748. flexible coolant return line was damaged while sitting against a hot bracket. It has been taped away from further damage and has been MRF for replacement.
Completed self Audit check list. The following items were addressed.
*On the 1/1/18. Sent an email to Ross reguarding the deterioration of the aft deck non skid. Sent photos to show current state. Ross away on annual leave. Please follow up.
*EPIRB no longer has a sticker for expired date. I requested paperwork for registration date ( 02/12/2019), battery expiry (Nov 2020). This paperwork has been filed in the SMS section 11.
*Sent email to Ross reguarding the Certificate of Survey displayed in the wheelhouse which states that the cert expires on the 01 Jan 18. Ross advised that
We have until the 1st of April to complete the survey requirements as per the revised AMSA regulation.
Periodic survey was last completed June 1st 2017 by Steve Foster, although the certificate does not reflect this.
Out of water survey to be completed by 7th July 2018.
A survey will be arranged in the new year.
Could you please ask Jake to look at our Nav card for the GPS it needs to be updated, when he returns from holidays. .
All else is good. I have entered all relevant expire dates onto the self audit for easy referance.
