Hi Shane,
Hope you had a good offswing and delivery got done before TC Debbie arrived mate! 145kts at Hamilton a Island a bit frightening...!
Thankfully this swing has been pretty quiet and run-of-the-mill (aside from a personal matter you know about...). A few things you might find useful...
1. All the 'usuals' have been done over the past three days, any issues let me know.
2. No wash still active GL3 (Western side of tug base behind RG Tanna) when Sledgehammer or Lady Norman are in there conducting crane operations. Will usually arrive and request no wash during or just after completion of 0620ish on demand run GL4-GL2. There are others up the Narrow's end of the ditch but that's the main one that'll affect you.
3. Engines and genset all okay. Stbd gearbox leak is back, this time on the outboard side of the gearbox. I laid a fresh soaker pad down there 27/3 and MRFhas been submitted. This will get fixed under warranty.
4. No changes to scheduled runs or break times.
5. Only thing I forgot to order this week is some more disinfectant. We filled up two spray bottles with it so you're not short but definately put into this week's stores order.
6. Liaise with Bruce RE berthing for 0700 run. They apparently have contractors on at 0700 some days and, as you know, don't like delays... (Or maybe that's just on my swing!?)
7. Inboard Fwd LED in engine room intermittent fault. MRF submitted.
8. New Fwd spring spliced for Sealink Marina berth... Last one getting tattered.
9. We vacuumed and wiped up bilges Tuesday morning but with wind and rain there will no doubt be a little liquid in them, particularly port side, as it comes through vents somehow. Shouldn't be more than 500mL.
10. With new scupper guards water had been entering cabin when alongside berth when wind blows any thing but NW -SW... Don't let spill kit get wet.
11. See flagged emails. Especially re drawbridge, bunkering and night time bunkering approval. (New one in wheelhouse)
12. Passengers have been leaving coffee cups on seats which get knocked over. Some new signs with a memo from the GM if you have any offenders.
13. According to a Jeff Garbage disposal amounts are now to be recorded in m3. FYI I calculated that a standard size plastic shopping bag is approx 0.06m3.
This is all that comes to mind really mate. I will try my best to come and say g'day this swing onboard for a coffee as it would be nice to catch up in person.
As always wishing you a safe and quick swing and I'll phone for a catch up soon.
Stay dry!
Regards,
Tony and Ryan.
PS I hear you adore my handover novellas mate... ;-)
