* Joined sunrise on 4/9/16 doing cap spirits QGC runs. All emails pertaining to QGC runs are on spirits iPad, however I will try to cover most points.
* Have been refuelling vessel between 0800 - 0830 on Monday and Thursday, usually gets to 30% + before refuelling. Have been requested by GPA to avoid refuelling on Friday and Saturday, to keep clear of charter vessels.
* changed out 405 Lifejacket lights that expired in battery life, now due in May 2021. PFD'S were exchanged for service now due in July/ August 2017
* Humphree stabiliser digital display not showing on stbd side, apparently all working though, couple of servo error codes k14, MRF raised.
* Removed water from collision bulkheads stbd side had about 140 lts and port about 60 lts. Port void 1 had corrosion in alloy starting, scrubbed out with truckwash and operated bilge pump all ok, removed 240 lts of soapy water after cleaning with vacuum
* 1 X uhf battery replaced as It wouldn't take any charge
* Gas detector has been charged there is a new charger ordered, if you need to recharge with current charger you need to put something heavy on top to keep charging
* Condemned lifering on upper deck, new one is in place, retaped retroflective where required on other rings and replaced letters as required
* There is a roll of 32 mm silver rope on luggage rack, this belongs to Trojan, they were to pick up sometime.
* On QC4 dock, witches hat placed to prevent trip hazard from gangway, for Parangool passengers disembarking, stickers placed on gangway.
* Using two gangways for peak hour runs for disembarking pax. At both ends
* All ferries are to leave on time except for 0620 which is a supervisor from QGC calling good to go. 3 min departure horn sounded and any journey over 20 mins must be logged with reason why, as well as late departures, also announcement to remain seated whilst berthing.
* Electrical test and tag register is now up to date items were tagged log book not filled, there are a couple of items in log book that can get crossed off deleted if you can't find them, see note in electrical log book
* Certificate of survey on wall displayed is out of date, I have added interim certificate to survey section in SMS folder, as it is 90 days you may have to chase up and familiarise yourself with this certificate and conditions
* New safety of navigation plan added to SMS in section 4 stating UKC (under keel clearance ) set at 0.75 m at chart datum, header left for your perusal in log.
* Water in office is provided for crew to drink whilst on duty, not to take home.
* Santos modem has been removed from under dash starboard side and returned to office.
* SMS review to be completed with all crew and sound knowledge of content is compulsory.
* Exercise conducted 16/9/16 for abandon ship drill involving 71 x QGC pax. The drill was done at QC1 once all pax. had boarded for the 0700 run at the request of the clients, all went well, Jeff Davey was onboard as sealink representative
* Stbd aft main has been getting up to 85 degrees when 100 pax onboard at 2110 revs, so keep an eye on both Stbd mains, shore based engineers are aware, they have attended the vessel and preliminary checks, I think the cooler may be the next thing they will tackle
* port fwd diagnostic throttle sensor has gone into limp home mode a couple of times, maintenance have checked out relays, I contact cleaned the wiring harness for the throttle sensor on the front of the main no problems for a week or more now, but it may come up again, as it has not totally been solved I feel
* new logbook has been started, the old one is above wheelhouse cupboard for your reference
* completed weekly, fort nightly, monthly, 3 monthly, 6 monthly checks, the port aft fire damper couldn't be reset, so pulled air vent out and repaired release pin so it will not pull free of bracket retainer for cable, lubricated, cleaned vent and tested multiple times.
* have made a fuel booking for Thursday 22/9/16 from 0800 - 0830 outside western end, if you swap vessels back to spirit or wish to change booking please cancel booking I have made please.
* when we conducted rescue tender drill the Davit winch operated winding up fine, however operating down was nearly unserviceable and way too much effort to operate winch, MRF was raised and maintenance attended and a small clunk was heard and then it came good, MRF was closed out and tested again by crew and all was serviceable, so just passing on the history if you have similar fault.
* engineer log book runs out in 6 days, there is a new logbook above wheelhouse cupboard
