Fill fuel tanks to 85% only. At 90% it will alarm and will continue to alarm whenever the boat pulls up or is in astern. The sensors are in the front of the tanks so readings are higher in astern or when pulling up. I filled it on our second last day so it isn't full, but still pretty high.
The fuel and sullage monitoring page on the PLC sometimes loses all info. So far it has been rectified by switching off the c zone switches on the 24v board and turning them back on.
At times the RADAR loses its signal. It appears to happen between the service wharf and the entrance to Auckland Creek (similar location to the interference that Parangools house radio gets) so maybe there's something generating a disturbance around there.
There's no paper charts onboard and the ECD hasn't been updated since 2020. I have MRF'd the ECD and Isaiah tells me we don't require paper charts.
The crane for the tender is tagged out as it's service date has well and truly passed. I did use it through my swing and water tested the tender. All went fine.
Dana is all over the engineering side of things, although, as you know, the Master is dual ticketed and if Oscar is your Mate for the day just be aware that his MED3 doesn't cover Nancy Wake as it is 670kw
The safety briefing is on the iPad marked Nancy1.
There is a box of new ICOM handheld radios that turned up after we had finished the shutdown.
There is only 1 fixed VHF onboard, but there is a a handheld one to maintain listening watch while underway.
There is no house radio, but I was contacting security on channel 74 on the handhelds.
For your information, other boats handhelds are Spirit 79 and Parangool 78 if you do need to call them when within range. I could call them in behind RG Tanna and as I approached QC4. I'm not sure what James Grant uses, but might be handy to find out just in case you need to call them.
Everything else was fine through the swing.
Regards,
Steve
