12/5/16 shudder detected in vessel most noticeable in wheelhouse, shore eng Shawn onboard for sea trial to diagnose
cant pinpoint problem, shudder is gone the next day and hasn't returned, was detected about six weeks prior to this and was confirmed by Shawn during sea trial at that time ?????
28/5/16 stb fwd main two studs securing turbo to exhaust manifold broken and replaced again, broke about 3 weeks prior as well
30/5/16 stb fwd main turbo failed boost spiked to 5.1 bar shutdown Finnish runs on 3 engines, replaced overnight by shore eng Shawn
Seems to be working fine now but would be wise to monitor pressures and temps more regularly for a while
Luke from engineering has notified Scania about the issues with this engine, itermittent vibration, turbo studs breaking, turbo failure ect, as this turbo was replaced recently
30/5/16 received call from SL Heron Island at GL4 about wash, I was outbound QC4---QC1 might pay to slow down passing them here if you don't already, first time anything said passing there for me
FM 200 cylinders replaced, 1life raft swapped over more to come still have spare onboard, aircons serviced except for upper aft deck
Last weeks stores order wasn't delivered will be there end of this week
Usual water leak from rams ect
Apart from issuers mentioned above vessel has been going fine
If runs are not completed in 20 minutes or less you must note reason in log
Had a fairly busy week or so covering runs for Parengool due to Bom forecasting 15 plus knots even though it was glassed out most of the week, make sure you regularly update forecast to avoid doing extra runs unnecessarily, and leiase with Parangool skipper to ensure runs are being covered
Hope you have a good swing
I'll talk to you tomorrow as I'm covering Ian on Sunset for the day
