<p>Served for 2 days as master 18/12/25 + 19/12/25</p> <p>* Both port and stbd fuel shut off's were difficult to operate and upon inspection at the tank the valves ( 3 on each tank tethered to a single cable ) were found not fully closed. After lubing and working by operating many times for a couple of minutes they freed up enough to close up satisfactorily </p> <p>* The gas detector was flat when I needed to use it to enter tank voids , I have found across the fleet that charging up once a month ( takes a couple of hours ) and placing a post it note when last charged in the top of the yellow case helps prevent flat gas detector when needed for use π</p> <p>* unable to access SMS on sharepoint as nobody knows the Microsoft login or passwords? The electronic sms differs vastly from the obsolete hard copy that is on board... I accessed this on my personal telephone .</p> <p>* Chemwatch was able to be accessed by selecting an icon named smarter suite on vessel ipad.</p> <p>Select gold, then rosters then all should come easier after that to find vessel specific msds information, general opinion of crew that googling msds sheet for any product gave faster and easier result</p> <p>* 6 seats have been removed in recent months and 4 crew compliment will allow 298 pax to travel on board as the only sms that is valid states ( the electronic sms ) 304 pax with 4 crew </p> <p>NB : The hard copy sms that we all know is obsolete....</p> <p>* the av button on the amplifier needs to be adjusted to flat out when you wish to make announcement over PA system and then readjusted back to setting with white paint, Only on for a couple of days so wasn't about to screw with all the settings </p> <p>* pax numbers dropping away rapidly as it.gets closer to Xmas time </p> <p>* vessel used to have 405 coastal life jackets, I believe there is now only 403 coastal jackets for the compliment ( life jackets under every seat 99 upstairs , 298 downstairs and 6 under wheelhouse lounge) apparently 2 went over to goodna???? Beats me ?</p> <p>Every vessel in the fleet has Viking pfds for crew that expire in February 2026, after discussing with W Ewins was advised that Viking will provide the fleet with replacements at due date, so no action required by crew </p> <p>Hope these notes helps next masters </p> <p>Merry Christmas and happy new year to allπ²π²π²π²</p> <p>Signed off Nathan Raphael 19/12/25</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
