12/10/25 Joined vessel for last week of swing after new engines fitted.
Please see SMS on SharePoint for start up procedures, Vessel does not need to be in parallel with new engines fitted. We get the same alarms as Torresian when you do your Prestart checks for the emergency back up controls. The throttle controls have the same issue as Torresian when you bump up the revs, requiring you to hit the up or down several times to increase or decrease rpm. The coolant level needs to be touching or just below the white guide at the filler point for reference. The engine room fans start when you start main engines and remain on for 15 minutes after you shut down. The SMS states to check the E/R fans prior to starting engines, of which they will not be running until to start up. I have sent an MOC to get this procedure changed in the sms.
Port side E/R door alarm is not operating and has been MRF,d.
17/10/25 portable gas sniffer recalibrated. Updated certs on Dataweb.
Chart corrections up to date to Edition 21.
New engines seem to be running well, on occasions you do get an alarm when shutting down on jet control unit RPMFB, maintenance notified. There is wiring on the port side engine and port jet unit that needs to be addressed by maintenance as it seems the jet units power supply is somehow linked into the house bank battery bank, Does not seem to effect the day to day operation of the vessel, although you cannot fire the port main engine if the house bank battery is not on. Maintenance looking into this..
