Joined vessel 19/3/25
* 20/3/25 First aid kit serviced
* 21/3/25 stern light lens replaced
* 21/3/25 Incident report submitted as follows
" Please see attached picture of roof panel that was hanging by wiring at main stbd aft cabin
The crew went on break and when returned to vessel at 1400 hrs this is how we found it , We have had relatively calm conditions for the last couple of days and the vessel has not struck the wharf hard or anything out of the ordinary for this panel to fall out?
There was no maintenance recorded in the log , during the crews absence whilst on break, I did call maintenance and asked if anyone had been onboard and was advised that the stern light had been changed out . As I spoke with Brody, who informed me that the stern light was changed , he wasn't present for the light changeout and didn't believe that the fitters accessed this area .
The crew have refitted the roof panels that were ajar and maybe suggest this be addressed / investigated ? "
* There is a video + photo in iPad , showing the panel falling out of the roof
* 24/3/25 Ovid audit onboard at marina 0815 hrs operations manager + auditor . A couple of ambiguous recommendations during my attendance attendance from the auditor,
* Garbage record logbook to be labelled F (operational waste) instead of A,B,C as we have been doing to avoid logging quantities of each class ie: how many cubic metres of plastic we are disposing of and so on ... easy fix 👍
* Oil record book doesn't show what quantity of fuel we have onboard after bunkering , so easy fix we need to log in oil record book that after bunkered we have 5400lts (90%) onboard...easy fix 👍
Operations manager is endeavouring to move us away from the current oil and garbage record books as we are not a class vessel and don't need this type of record ( watch this space)
No report has been issued yet, so feel free to discuss with operations manager the above 😎
* 25/3/25 Shore power cable requires inspection and tagging from aces , hoping this gets done when aces electricians are attending goodna for maintenance today
* AS per previous master handover notes, we have been playing the radio for the transit of passage when pax onboard as TV reception is poor, Feedback was pax happy, although we covered parangool shift changeovers on the weekend and the nightshift crew prefer quiet for the 0600 QC4 - GL3 run
AiS seems slow at times ie: 3nm from aplng and not showing ship and 4 tugs alongside until 2nm and then its still thinking about it and gives mmsi numbers? Anyway check it out, see what you reckon ? As an interim master I didn't want to go and change and/or fiddle with any of your settings 😀
