Brody on board to service genset at 9767 hours which was 110 hours over due. Impellor and anode checked. Brody noticed raw water (2 inch) pipe contracting (sucking hard) on genset whilst running. Shaun & Brodie removed the 4m long one inch black flexible pipe running from bottom of stairs of port main engine to strainer for generator (raw water pick-up). Pipe full of barnacles. Bashed pipe on dock and also used hammer to loosen barnacles inside before flushing through with fire hose.
Fitted two new round aluminum inspection hatches on floor port side near toilet and near stairs.

Crew removed and cleaned all five (5) raw water strainers and scrubbed out marine growth inside housing.
Drip at port stern gland getting worse. Water in port bilge pump out daily.

Both day & night shift crew notice that the vibration on port side is getting much worse.

250 hour service on port & stbd main engines (@ 6029). Next service due at 6279 hours. 3000 hour service done on port & stbd main engines (valve clearances, etc). Replaced anodes, replaced port & stbd raw water pump impellers, replaced fwd engine room high water alarm float switches.
Vibration on port side getting a lot worse.

At 15:00 port main engine RPM 'hunting'/fluctuating in quick succession from 2090 to 2270. Changed/increased RPM to 2150 and problem went away.

Vessel out of the water at SeaLink slipway at 07:45. Hull high-pressure water cleaned. All four blades of the port prop heated and bashed straight. One blade tip still missing about 2 cm square of tip.
Replaced leaking port stern gland on port shaft. Stbd deal done as well. Replaced port & stbd inlet raw water valves. Cleaned out GenSet raw water pick-up. 200 hour service done on GenSet. Next service due at 10160 hours.

Sucked out 60 litres of saltwater from GenSet bilge. GenSet expansion tank overflowing.

Sucked out 2 litres of saltwater from GenSet bilge. Expansion tank for GenSet overflowing. Saltwater in header tank of GenSet.
Nearly all vibration gone from port side.

Brody on board to fit a temporary heat exchanger on GenSet until a new one arrives. Temporary heat exchanger has no temperature sensor fitted so keep check water flow at the port stern. GenSet covers don't fit on GenSet with temporary heat exchanger in place.
