Joined vessel 9/10/24
9/10/24 * port main exhaust mixer was steaming when underway , suspect crack under lagging, maintenance replaced mixing elbow , genset exhaust mixer elbow also replaced
10/10/24 * genset 240 volt water pump in port mid void replaced and water flow from exhaust is now as it should be
* test and tag completed 10 + 11 October
* gas detector serviced 12/10/24
* 13/10/24 when operating fire flap release the port aft and Stbd aft flap were unable to be released .
After freeing up the port Morse cable with inox and working the cable operation was restored, however the flap wouldn't drop and we used inox on the hinge and worked it and freed up , the Stbd cable was restored after inox and working the cable for some time.... With this in mind please ensure that at least monthly these are worked several times and lubricated and suggest to do so also when operating them for drills or crew training, 21/10/24 flaps tested and lubricated and operational , stbd aft flap needed slight manipulation of cable at flap to reset
14/10/24 * MRF # 10091 submitted as follows
Genset raw water line between primary strainer and secondary strainer choked up with barnacles , the 240 volt pump was replaced 10/10/24 and restored acceptable flow of cooling water , however the secondary strainer had 500ml of barnacles in basket when inspected 13/10/24 and the raw water line between both strainers needs barnacle buster run through it when convenient
17/10/24 * A mouse was found on the vessel at startup and removed permanently, records indicate that pest control was last completed March 2023. I asked maintenance manager if we should MRF for pest control or do we send email to slipway requesting and was advised to submit SRF for mouse traps which I will request on 22/10/24 when next stores order is submitted
19/10/24 * MRF # 10107 submitted as follows
" The Hamilton jet buckets are dropping down overnight when the vessel is shutdown the Stbd bucket on the blue arrow panel shows 4 increments astern and the port shows 1 increment astern. Once the vessel is clutched in the bucket's return to the neutral position. When the vessel is clutched out to shutdown overnight, the same bucket position as pictured is found in the morning after 10 hours of shutdown and the same position is apparent whether the engines are on mouse control when shutdown or on the throttle levers when shutdown , this is not affecting the operation of the vessel at this time. A visual check of the buckets on arrival to vessel makes it apparent that the Stbd bucket has dropped , picture in iPad gallery "
19/10/24 * Note: I refuelled twice now during swing and both times have taken the fill on both port and Stbd to a gurgle at the breather to check fuel gauges for accuracy. When the Stbd tank guage reads 250lts the tank is bunkered with 850lts which would suggest that only 150lts would be in the tank prior to bunkering and the port is similar indicating 350 lts prior to bunkering and taking on 750 lts to bunker to full which would suggest the port tank had only 250 lts prior to bunkering
21/10/24 * The vessel still is missing the ctek charger from the main battery bank , it was removed from vessel 22/9/24 , parallel batteries for operations
Sullage guage not reading correctly so we monitor fresh water usage for sullage tank level and fill freshwater same time as sullage pumpout👍
26/10/24 * IPad charger received with stores order and have returned charger and cable to canaipa that was borrowed when vessel come online as 2nd Aplng vessel
