Vessel name GLADSTONE24 on exemption notices and other documentation has been cleared with amsa and vessel UVI is attached to Goodna. Re- validated certs will have updated name
Goodna is not coming up on certain parts of dataweb eg. chart correction page - Sean is aware and requests have been made for rectification. Charts corrections have been entered into the logs onboatd, temp notices applicable to our charts are attached to the charts themselves but nothing has been entered into dataweb since I don't have the option to yet.
remember to inform all crew onboard that the outdoor speakers are only rated IP54 so are only weatherproof, so take care during washdown. We have been wrapping the aft ones in plastic to wash down the area as bugs cover the area around the deck lights and require strong hose down at handover to remove which has potential to soak the speaker. As for the fwd speakers there is no real solution yet and bugs accumulate around those lights pretty bad. Have to be careful around those ones, we been using light hose down and soft broom as required.
there has been a fair amount of people onboard and I have noticed that the back of the seat is getting wear marks from people squeezing behind the seat, so when not in use I have been getting into the habit of tilting it forward so people don't need to squeeze between. Also at the beginning of my time onboard I have noted there was damage to the cooling fins of the air con compressors in the ac void. Remind people to take care when moving through this space not to damage as there is not much protection. I have talked to Brodie to see if there is anything they can do to help protect this area.
I have had to position the vessel on shady side of pontoon to help keep the ac void cool while operating air cons. Staying on the sunny side and running just 2 air conditioners during peak of the day and we hit low to mid 40deg with vent fans at max. On shady side we can have 3 or 4 air con units on and run at mid 30s and vent fans between halfway and three quarters. Cloud cover and aircon temps will change this void temp dramatically, I'm sure you guys will figure out what works best for you. Some tinting would have been ideal........
We acquired the manuals from the office, the main manuals have been put into the plastic container in document shelf and the double ups and other non essential manuals as well as a bunch of extra hardware have been stowed in crew only crawl space under helm.
I've manage to find a work around for the mail app on iPad so its now working, no need to use chrome link anymore, and also the safety message is now stored on the usb with the safety video.
Mistakes in the vessels sms are often being found, any errors we have found and lodged an MOC with, have a post it note attached with the date of the MOC lodgement and initialled LH so we don't double up on requests. There is still plenty more for you guys to find in there, no doubt.
if the safety video is playing video with no audio or if it plays with no video but has audio, there is a media reciever behind the media player. It has blue lights on it and there is a button on the right hand side you must press to turn off then back on. Problem solved, don't know why
there is a saved picture from an email from Sean England in gallery of open MOCs I have submitted there may be a few more that have been added by handover so if submitting any check with Sean to get an updated list so we don't double up.
goodna is not showing up on the nightshift trip logs section inside the trip register page. Be aware that after midnight you will not be able to access to adjust ships logs, only be able to view. If any alteration to the log is needed you will have to email Hannah the amendments or photos of logs if they are not attached prior this time
we no longer can take screenshots on the iPad as sealink have restricted the use of this feature.
Oxley, barge, polycraft and workbeatle are repairing flne mac ramp pile fenders, ref MSQ NTM 466 (t) no wash in effect during work hours
If the microfibre cloths that are used for polishing need washing, take them up Friday night in a bag labelled goodna, and leave them inside store room for the cleaner to run through the washing machine
You will have to turn off the engine room fans when sitting for extended periods of time since these fans are powered by the starting batteries, if you leave them on for long periods you will receive a low voltage alarm on the mcu panel
The saftey message has been put onto the usb stick for your convenience if you wish to use it
There was a piece of food that ignited in the microwave one day, so you will notice the char mark under the turntable
Only fill fresh water to 90%, this tank is not meant to be pressurised even if it does have a breather. Each time tank is filled to 100% we have had to remove water from the void space. Save yourself the hassle and only fill at a low flow rate to 90%
I have been operating the genset weekly for around 30mins, but brodie could recommend we do it 2 weekly as part of our 2 weekly checks
There has been a fair few MRFs lodged so take a moment and check before lodging any double ups just incase
Service intervals - expect main engine sample taken at 250 hours and possibly gearbox oils replaced also at 250 hours also. Hopefully the boys put in some SAE 40 as the 30 we have in there is already showing oil temps rising those couple of degrees.
DONT FORGET TO WEAR YA CROTCH STRAPS FELLAS......... 💪
