Handover notes 6/8/24
Joined vessel 22/7/24 as master
The IPAD had to be set up after it automatically requested and sealink security settings will not allow safari to be utilised, so you need to use google chrome to access data web and PIN number for iPad is now 123456
Emergency lighting in port engine room + port tank room + port aft deck u/s mrf # 9879 submitted 24/7/24
The stbd genset electricity supply drops out when circuit breaker in engine room trips out, when this occurs have been starting port genset and bringing online , then recharging the stbd circuit breaker so we have a backup electricity supply, electrician attended the vessel 29/7/24 and made some adjustments to the voltage dropout time delay, however it has made no difference
Incident report submitted 27/7/24 after stbd electricity supply tripped circuit breaker 1621 hrs, changed to port genset and had port genset shutdown @ 1830hrs whilst underway with 178 pax onboard making turn into RG Tanna entrance . The stbd genset was restarted and berthed safely and pax disembarked. The port genset was started again and run ok , not sure why it shutdown. MRF submitted , The port circuit breaker also had to be reset, W Ewins has requested an incident report is lodged each time there is a power failure with ships supply
Port main engine battery bank replaced after pm operations 28/7/24
One of the cabin lights port side 3rd from aft had exposed wire and has had the light terminated as per engineer log back page 29/7/24
Freshwater gauge on port side appears to work alright of sorts , just have to fill the tank slowly about half tap setting or more from the dock which takes a long time , bunkered to 65% then it jumped to 100%, we stopped filling then settled at 65%
Have been refuelling once a week on Monday, have run vessel down to 24% and there was no issues of fuel starvation to engines
Turning off freshwater pumps when going on break or shutting down vessel overnight
Turning off key to main engines on the panels in engine rooms when going on break otherwise they stay on all day
Turning off steering pump when not underway sitting alongside docks
Have turned off upper deck toilet hand dryers on the distribution board as the one in the stbd toilet stays running when lights switch is turned on
We had a fault alarm in the port engine room fire alarm panel 25/7/24 and the sensors in the engine were removed and reattached and all good, the fwd one was the culprit
Superclene degreaser 5lt which we had ordered to clean up decks is on backorder as the storeman has no empty bottles to decant into, so it will probably turn up in stores when received 7/8/24
GLNG security are listening on our uhf channel # 79 , FYI Cap Spirit on Ch #78, Torresian Ch #75
We had the vessel port side to at marina on a couple of occasions for wash down, a fender is required about 3 mts fwd of the port wing control when backing into pen to keep the shoulder clear as the sponson is wider at the fwd end and will end up resting on the fire extinguisher cabinet that is on the dock under the fire hose if no fender is used, Also when departing the pen I had the crew just hold a fender at the bow in the right position to screw the vessel off the dock without the green hull contacting the mooring cleat on the dock and the dock rubber
3//8/24 The hot knife and fid have been loaned to Trojan , so they have these items onboard at the moment
5/8/24 I have placed a 32mm fwd spring on the dock at GL4 , ready to swap it out with the old one that we are still utilising if the old one fails or at your wish
5/8/24 One of the steering hydraulic oil line in the stbd steering flat had come fingertight loose and leaked oil into bilge , tightened fitting, mopped up oil and topped up steering hydraulic oil reservoir on port side with 4 lts added
There have been a couple of occasions where the stbd side vhf radio is not transmitting and most of the time works , receiving all fine , so have been using the port vhf radio on ch13 as of 5/8/24
6/8/24 main engines were serviced with oils and fuel filters
Fuel dips being conducted whilst alongside GL3 waiting for 1745 run for log purposes
Hope all goes well, numbers of pax has dropped considerably, probably shutdown finishing early from informal discussion with glng staff
Signed off 6/8/24
