Joined vessel 5/6/24
8/6/24 * Charts corrected to NOTAMs Edition 12 issued 7/6/24
* Hire genset removed from vessel and replaced with previous Cummins genset now housed in aluminium box, genset was serviced prior to reinstatement on vessel and start hours @ 2331 hrs , no insulation or door seals on new genset housing and the operation panel is enclosed, I have a set of earmuffs in wheelhouse for starting / stopping and checking guages as it is quite loud with the door panels open. The housing is hard mounted to the deck and the engine is on flexible engine mountings inside the box, it also has an expansion tank fitted to the cooling system
9/6/24 * inspection of port freshwater tank void shows a lot of water in the bilge again.. I would suspect freshwater has been overfilled as it leaks out of tank lid. Maybe fill it to 95% to prevent leaking into bilge . I Will endeavour to remove water from bilge again and vacuum bilge dry.
* Port engine room fan is u/s and maintenance have removed and isolated wiring until a replacement fan is sourced and fitted
* Shore power lead plug to vessel has plastic plug housing broken and maintenance have supplied 2 x leads joined together from the slipway for the interim until the shorePower lead has the plug replaced by an electrician
10/6/24 * Last day of rate reduction timetable , signs placed back on seating after pm operations, next rate reduction due 8/7/24 TBA will have the same timetable as last rate reduction
* Hazard card submitted to ConocoPhillips regarding lights on CP3 pontoon having 3 of them extinguished with poor lighting , I believe the client is also aware of 2 x lifebuoy lights on CP3 pontoon out of date, also that the shorepower leads on CP3 pontoon are about 3 months past test and tag due date with 1 x lead on the southern side with no tag at all and also the red lights on the SW and NW corners of the pontoon at CP3 are unlit
11/6/24 * IPad to office for installing ChemWatch whilst on break, ChemWatch can now be found in the bookmarks (icon top left of screen when you open a new tab)
12/6/24 * Email received advising A/C servicing that was due 13 + 14th June has now been rescheduled to 3 + 4th July
* Removed 150 lts fresh water from port void 4 (freshwater and fuel tank void) and vacuumed dry and has stayed dry
* Bunkered freshwater to 95% on Friday 14/6/24 and as of Tuesday 18/4/24 freshwater guage reads 100% ??? Not sure if it is reading really well as the toilet and sink have had plenty of use ???
* Email received regarding post dredge survey results for FLNE + APLNG + Cutting
13/6/24 * APLNG marine specialist Tim Tamani conduct vessel audit at APLNG 1400 - 1600 hrs
14/6/24 * When I ordered stores this week , I requested a couple of chocks for the catering trolleys that we carry for the client regularly and the stores received paperwork state that Gene will make them.
17/6/24 * The port fire alarm activated whilst enroute CP1 to marina after pm runs, there has been no engine room fan for 9 days and as we were travelling ENE with WSW wind the heat detector was set off. The engine hatch was left open for remainder of journey and no fire alarm activated for the run back to marina
18/6/24 * The western gangway at CP1 was taken ashore after am runs for welding of cracks on hinges and returned to CP1
* MRF # 9754 submitted for fresh water tank guage to remove and clean out sender unit
* Port engine room fan has been replaced and all working OK
19/6/24 * Sullage and freshwater water guages not working correctly
* Left vessel to serve on Cap Spirit for 20/6/24 + 21/6/24 + 24/6/24 , there is enough fuel onboard for these days and fresh water and sullage will not be required to be filled or pumped respectively , 👍
22/6/24 * Collected stores and it appears we have been given a double up of supplies from last week , hence lots of paper towels , air wicks, gloves etc....
* Spare UHF radio batteries received , these have been charged up and are back in the cardboard boxes in the filing cabinet ready for use when required
23/6/24 * Inspected level of freshwater tank through lid in top of tank which was well over half full, then pumped out sullage and bunkered freshwater tank to 95% visually with the tank lid removed. As the tank guages for both sullage and freshwater are u/s , weekly pump outs and bunkering should keep levels in check until guages are fixed.
* There are water bottles supplied to crew to be collected and signed for from the office if you haven't already done so
* Coffee supplies in crews mess at office have dried up, so BYO ☕️
24/6/24 * Relieving master D Layer had the joystick for the steering not operational to stbd on 24/6/24 and secured rudders with locking pins and returned to marina and new joystick fitted by maintenance
25/6/24 * Whilst enroute to CP1 from the marina after start-up, the new joystick became loose then dropped through the dash, it appears there is not enough thread to secure joystick correctly , have removed 2 × rubber seals / washers to get an extra bite on the thread and has been ok so far
* The shorePower leads at CP3 are now tagged and in date as of 24/6/24
* Flagged email received 24/6/24 regarding new bridge control contact number effective 1/7/2024 new number is 07 31593069
