30/05/24 please see email regarding charging of lithium ion batteries. An SRF has been submitted for batteries for UHF handheld radios 04/06/24
See extract below
Hi All,
Just an update on the memo sent out on 30/05/2024 regarding the charging of electronic devices onboard the vessels that have lithium-ion batteries.
Masters on the split shift vessels have raised the question about the radio batteries not lasting as they would not have time to recharge them while they are operational.
Split shift vessels should submit an SRF for a spare battery for each UHF radio they have onboard so it can be on charge while the vessel is operational giving them battery redundancy should their radio battery in use runs out of charge.
PLEASE BE AWARE: As we have two different UHF radios on the vessels [ICOM IC41W and ICOM IC41PRO] you will need to order the correct type of battery for the radios you have onboard.
If you have any questions, please email me.
kind regards
Willie
