* After last slipping 3 years ago, the strainers were filled up with the seacocks closed hoping it may stay primed once in the water and cocks opened, however the water went straight out, I recommend to use the main engine with mechanical water pumps to get good raw water cooling flow as i had to give a few good revs to prime up sytem, otherwise you can fill some drums up with water and remove sea strainer lid once in the water and prime with water in drums as the level of the lid is higher than the waterline when vessel has no pax onboard and will not flood vessel with seacock open and lid removed, probably avoid trying to prime with gensets which goes to 1500 rpm straight away with a small rubber impeller, trying to prime cooling system, just means you have to start the mains or prime strainers with emergency lighting in engine room only👍
