Joined vessel 19/7/23
*19/7/23 The stbd midship access door had the "door closer" ( yes, I had to google it because I had no idea what it was called 😄) mechanism removed 18/7/23 and replaced 20/7/23
* 20/7/23 The port genset shut-down when underway twice during pm runs , both times the genset had been running for about an hour each time , the panel in engine room showing auxiliary fault. There was no excessive load/amps when it happened and coolant temperature was ok, the first time was when manoeuvring into QC4 and second time was when vessel was brought back from cruise speed to idle speed coming into QC4 ? Spoke with fitters and this was happening a couple of months ago, and come good. Genset hasn't faulted for am operations 21/7/23 onwards
* 20/7/23 The defibrillator was serviced by a contractor from QGC
* 20/7/23 Request from Des to sign off as master each day on any trainees paperwork in the section that requests training hours on trainees forms
* 21/7/23 The flexible microphone for the avo intercom system onboard was repaired by maintenance
* MSQ notice to mariners 300 + 301 regarding naval exercises commence 22/7/23 please read these on msq website as one of them is relevant to our area of daily operations
* 21/7/23 Roof and bonnet, port side and fwd + aft decks scrubbed down , harnesses due for inspection in August
* 21/8/23 Flagged email regarding vessel speed performance i sent, has reply attached from maintenance manager stating next slipping early next year
* 22/7/23 Charts corrected to notams 610(T)2023
* 25/7/23 There are 3 separate weeks of stores requisitions that haven't been received as yet when you join vessel, so if submitting any SRF straight up , check out what has been ordered first in last 3 SRF's that were submitted
* 25/7/23 Vessel has been cleaned for handover as per standard , however the rain we had has left a couple of marks on the wheelhouse where the chalky white residue from the roof, has drained off , so we went back on the roof after break to wash windows again, they might be a bit salty as it is blowing 30 knots and as you know the hose doesn't go well at the dock in the wind
* 25/7/23 Have had the Rolls Royce control alarm on the stbd wing go off a couple of times , however I'm not sure if I am bumping the joystick whilst I'm operating the tiller handle, making it beep? Keep an eye on it i guess?
