There was 2.5 cm layer of crystalised salt in bottom of genset casing and salt water in bilge of Port aft genset void when we started shift. After investigation it was leak from exhaust. Problem has been solved.
Tag and testing completed 14/1/16.
Replaced bungee cord on aft dampers handles for both Port and Stbd Mains engine rooms.
Repaired fendering on Stbd bow with Black gorilla tape and ordered more tape to continue temp. repairs until maintenance can get to repairs.
Strainers for air conditioning units were in a very bad state when clean on first weekly checks. Think they may have been overlooked last shift.
Hyrolic leak on Stbd ram was fixed. The main steering cylinder to rudder ball joint had a very loose connection. Brody (from maintainence) has asked that this is checked weekly.
Stbd main raw water intake hose split and flooded engine room for night shift. The hose used is not as robusk as really needed but because it is a different guage pipe at each end, maintainence cant find a flexible hose that is more durable. Therefor this seems to be a weak spot in the system and needs close inspection for presarts. Maintainence has ordered 6 more to have on standby.
Transmission cooler oil leak was fixed.
MRF 2136. Stbd sea cock ball valve very hard to close.
Monthly inspections showed that both house battteries are indicating ckear..meaning low charge. I had them load tested and they both read 13.6 volts. Which is what the dash guage is reading and is great. But keep an eye on this as batteries are apparently 4yrs old.
On the 2nd and 3rd of Feb.
*Fendering on Stbd bow was repaired.
* interior was thoroughly cleaned
* hull was scrubbed with Driffer
* scuff marks were removed and vessel truck washed.
Vessel was refuelled by night shift at end of shift.
Sullage was pumped at 1800 on 2/2/16
