<p>Hi Nathan and Dan.</p> <p>As you know I have swung off a week early.</p> <p>Vessel running well and nothing much to report.</p> <p>Please read any flagged emails.</p> <p>Chart Register for all NOTAMS and MSQ Notices 2023 are in blue plastic envelope booklet in Bridge Document Cupboard </p> <p>Black Binder in Bridge Document Cupboard contains Previous NOTAMS and MSQ Notices 2021 - 2022.</p> <p>New Emergency Contact list mounted on Wheelhouse wall near EPIRB.</p> <p>TRAINEE Bradley Johnson Update.</p> <p>Bradley is doing a 12 month Deckhand Traineeship. He joined Spirit last Wednesday so has done 5 days in total. Bradley is very Green but keen to learn. So far I have inducted him through the vessel and gone through all the safety Equipment. He hasn't spent any time on boats before so it's hard for him to completely understand operation of a lot off the equipment. I have started him on the bow learning Deckhand 1 role and that's where I have kept him. So far he is doing the role under Good Supervision. He is securing lines for me on the bow and doing all radio coms as Deckhand 1 does. We have done 2 MOB Drills with him watching on from Deckhand 1 and 3 positions. We have been through the Anchor drill a few times having him raise and lower it also getting him familiar with clutch use, brake and claw. Tender operation he was nervous but competent. Emergency Stop, he understands you must brace yourself and have pax brace then check for injury' of pax. These are the only drills we have done so far. Passenger loading and vessel cleaning he is fine with. I have given him a safety plan and labelled it showing bow stern and midship sections and labeled where the 3 different deckhand roles take place. Bradley has started his paperwork and is slowly getting through it. He needs to understand what he is writing about before he can put on paper, so I haven't rushed him.Willy has been updated on Bradley's induction so far.<br /> Have a good swing.</p> <p>Annemaree</p> <p> </p>
