Joined vessel 5/7/23
* 5/7/23 stbd Simrad nav panel is still u/s and maintenance have advised new one is on order, vessel doesn't have a sounder whilst this stbd panel is u/s. * 18/7/23, as previous vessel handover stated, I also have got it it to operate on one morning only for the 2 weeks I have been on vessel and then it froze and had to shut it down on the circuit breaker
* 6/7/23 port side superstructure aft of midships below cabin windows has paint flaking due to corrosion which could be perceived as damage, management advised MRF submitted # 8833
The fridge needs to be pushed closed firmly so the seals on the door effectively seal, and this stops the wheelhouse floor being covered in defrosted water, I have adjusted the door hinge and it seems to be closing / sealing a bit better now
* 7/7/23 Stbd main engine during am operations, giving off intermittent check engine diagnostic fault 422 FM=2 PID 111 and then also going into critical fault diagnostic stating shut down engine fault code 235 FM=1 PID 111 , this is same fault from approximately 5 weeks ago with the coolant sensor most likely to be the culprit, coolant has been checked and all ok ,engine temps all ok , spoke with maintenance fitters and continued to operate vessel for operations MRF submitted # 8837 During our crew break The coolant sensor was replaced and the vessel had no alarms for pm runs
Port main engine has increased load by 6-7 % and fluctuates rapidly by about 5 % whilst steaming at 1750 rpm since joining vessel on 5/7/23. The engine revs also fluctuate rapidly by 30 - 40 rpm when steaming at 1750 rpm and exhaust cap motion and slight vessel vibration suggests to me, engine has a dicky injector ? MRF submitted # 8838, I have since seen MRF that was submitted for this # 8816 28/6/23 that hasn't been approved as of 10/7/23
* 7/7/23 New digital engine monitoring panels installed , I have set them up so readings should correspond with written log entries writing left to right by reading the panels clockwise using the quad panels and pushing second button from the left to scroll trough the pages. The engine hours can be taken by holding down the right button on panel and then selecting "Db viewer" then scroll down once to obtain engine hours. Engine Oil temperature and and air intake manifold temperature can also be obtained with new panels however we are not logging these. The new panels don't display system OK after diagnostics have completed after the ignition key is turned on, so please still wait until the tachometers have gone hardover and come back again to let diagnostics complete prior to pushing the start buttons 👍
* 9/7/23 Maintenance fitted shaft seal monitoring system and alarm, it is positioned next to anchor winch controls and take care not to knock the alarm reset button with your knees or hips as it looks like it could easily be broken. Also when you turn on the batteries in the wheelhouse you will hear a loud new alarm sound from the shaft seal alarm panel when the isolating switch is selected. The shaft seal monitor shares the same circuit breaker as fuel monitor which I have labelled The compass deviation is also slightly affected by this panel installation
* 8/7/23 Charts corrected to NTM 563(T) + 564(T)
* 8/7/23 + 9/7/23 maintenance spent most of weekend running new cabling trough the vessel for new cctv system that will be installed soon, 13/7/23 new cameras now running off dedicated monitor mounted port side of wheelhouse, To login scroll down to crew with mouse and select then password is Canaipa23 The Simrad function on port nav screen for video is no longer in use. I have left the manual for cctv operation on the chart table, it can be placed in the filing cabinet when convenient. The new system doesn't support FLIR so I wouldn't bother turning it on, The fitters also repaired the filing cabinet lock and it is back in order now
* 11/7/23 updated emergency and operational contacts list for wheelhouse provided to vessel it is located on the side of the fridge
* 11/7/23 port fuel guage was reading full (750 lts more than what was in tank) This has happened a couple of times since new fuel guages installed and can be rectified by turning off the circuit breaker for fuel monitor and reset and it comes good
* 11/7/23 see flagged email from Hannah regarding first aid kit servicing on 19th September , reminder is in calendar in iPad and written on whiteboard
* 12/7/23 Requested to maintenance, if there any diagnostic panel manuals or shaft seal monitor manuals could they please be provided to the vessel to go in the filing cabinet, they advised that no manuals come with these items when purchased?
* 13/7/23 All 5 x A/C units were serviced by contractors from summer breeze
* 14/7/23 Antifoul is worn away on hull and MRF submitted #8865 so this can be planned and scheduled
* 18/7/23 last day on canaipa for this swing, just a heads up we were due for an audit from marine specialist @ APLNG and he hasn't attended yet, so this may come up very soon , hope it all goes well 👍 Bye for now
Added by Ian Fleetwood, finished swing, 25/07/23.

No stores available at present, Pete is back from leave today, 2 orders in at present, toilet paper and toilet duck, these were the only things Whetu mentioned were low.
Infueled today, last day of swing, didn't put as much in as others do, as I am not comfortable with the way this gauge reads.
