Hi Nathan,
- joined vessel on 4th April, as I have only been on a few days I don't have a lot to report on what has occurred prior. Both mains and auxillary are running well. - see flagged emails
- OVID audit completed 11/04
- new gas detector and confined space training manuals in filing cabinet
- Gas detector is due 13/04/23 - I have verbally contacted Cindy and she mentioned that it is scheduled to be sorted this coming week. - test & Tag has been completed at some point this month - However I have not received any documents / test & tag book has not been filled out, Cindy supplied a spreadsheet to the vessel which I have placed in the sms.
- new certificate of insurance - Cindy has not received a new certificate of insurance as of yet, however has emailed & supplied a copy of confirmation of placement - this is also in the sms.
- see email from Willie regarding personal and crew Pfds requiring leg strap - hard copy on clipboard. - email sent to Willie requesting leg strap for crew pfd onboard and was advised that it will be either fitted with a Leg strap or be replaced when it's due for serving. - Chart corrections are up to date, latest correction 273(T)2023 completed - cancel 62(T)2021, scientific equipment at south trees recovered. - lifering lights were changed out prior to me swinging on. Expiry June 2026. - fuel guages have been changed out & calibrated prior to me swinging on - 30/03 & 31/03, the displays were reading incorrectly (port guage reading stbd tank & stbd guage reading port tank) - maintenance fixed this up 06.04.23 however I still believe they are reading approximately 100L low then what's in the tank?I have reset the trip guage following bunkering to hopefully assist in fuel usage to guage reading. I have worked out average fuel burn is around 30L / per engine hour - using this method and the trip meter on the displays this was pretty close when bunkering - maximum fuel in tank 1160 so far, I have not pushed it further.
- Dana reported that the port engine bucket that collects water was filled with water over the weekend prior to joining me, so that is still an issue.
- Fire pumps were run 05/04, the pressure was extremely weak (even with both pumps on) and on investigation port impeller was hot to touch suggesting limited water flow, after shutting it off and restarting both pumps operated to standard. I have put a MRF in for inspection of impeller and operation. 08/04 fire pumps run and both operated fine - so possible airlock caused the previous issue. - New signs ordered for watertight hatches via email to Cindy / Pete, Cindy requested a MRF#8563. Signs to be replaces by stickers. -foward cabin aircon was smelly on start up 11/04 - I suspect there is mould in the aircon, Cindy notifed and MRF#8563 placed. contractor to attend vessel 12/04 for deep cleaning. -MRF#8566 wire on foredeck broken - requires saddle to be reattached. Saddle in on wheelhouse table.
- stores order submitted - 10/04
- all checks up to date
