G’day Craig,
A very, very busy swing for us with many engineering jobs, lots of training (again!) and changes to schedules etc. at different times.
Major works completed this swing:
b. 8/1/15 Stbd Aft Lower Deck Aircon Cassette Unit capacitor replaced, working fine.
c. Fitted cyclone mooring bridle and went to cyclone moorings to manufacture and fit the tethering lines to the moorings for all 35m vessels – see emails from Jeff, these need to be checked weekly.
b. 22/1/16 All overboard discharge valves closed as per Jeff’s email 21/1/16.
10. 25/1/16 Stbd Genset failure, replaced impellor, removed broken fins from impeller fromheat exchanger, found coolant temperature sensor faulting, cleaned connections and ordered new sensor.
New MRFs requiring attention:
#2133 – Stbd Mid Fwd Air con not operating properly – showing light sequence on timer light concurrent with water pump failure.
#2134 – Port fwd fire alarm box in engine room light not flashing on alarm test mode.
#2137 – Raw water leak on manifold directly under the air filter on port aft m/e. Richard should be here to fix this today 27/1/16 or tomorrow.
#2149 - Toilet lights and fans breaker (#4) tripping out, 27/01/16
Other business and misc.
We fuelled up yesterday as you can see in the log, fresh is topped up and sullage empty!
Mains are a little overfull with oil following servicing but have checked with Richard and he said this was fine and to let the engines “do their thing”. All other fluids within correct, acceptable levels. All bilges cleaned where possible and new pads replaced. Port side is awaiting the replacement of the gasket to fix the leak as per MRF #2137 mentioned above. I haven’t replaced the pads in that side as they will get soaked with salt water when the leak is fixed. I put this MRF in on Saturday but Richard has been very busy with other vessels so hasn’t had time to get it fixed. I vacuumed this side this morning but it may well have water in it again if Richard has been down to fix the leak. Hopefully the toilet fans and lights breaker has ben fixed, this only presented itself this morning.
Jet rams greased as per log (Monday 25/1/16), and jet rooms cleaned, degreased and pads replaced.
Please call with any questions mate - 0410 678 459.
Have a fantastic swing and hoping it’s not quite as ‘eventful’ as ours!
Batteries are isolated and main seacock valves are shut.
Regards to you, your family, Des and the crew, Tony.
