Good Morning Nathan and Good evening Jas
hope your swing off was good, many beers downed and many fish died in your hands
SME was replaced as you were aware, was running fine however after 3 odd days of running at 80 degrees, it is getting warmer and warmer day by day. The hottest it has gotten is 89 degrees on the run.
Maintence is aware and trying to rectify ASAP however, in the meantime we are running it at approx 1700 rpm and it sits around 85-86 degrees
Shaun told me to start backing off around 92 degrees however we are playing it a bit safe as there are no spare boats if we have an issue
i have noticed that when we run with the tide that it gets it's hottest, and running slightly cooler when we are going into the tide. I have suggested that the outside of the keel cooling needs a clean as does the rest of the hull but Re waiting for that to happen.
not long after we got the bus back, there was a fault with the PME not getting any throttle, this issue was fixed by Richard and the cause was a broken earth wire on the controls under the dash
Twice i I have had "jet rev J1" alarm on the blue arrow controls. This has happened luckily once I have had a line on at GL2. The outcome of this alarm is a breakdown in communication from the controls to the buckets for direction changing, throttle still operates as per normal. Upon berthing, I came astern to pull up however with this alarm we don't get astern, but with the throttle still working still accelerate but in the wrong direction. When I changed to the mouse and it's all good, change back to sticks it's all good and backups work normally. Shaun has investigated and closed the gap on the solenoid connections and have not had a drama since.
