Hello,
engine rooms have been cleaned up please don't leave multiple rags in the engine rooms as it creates fire hazards and the possibility of entanglement in machinery.
Spare oil/coolant in engine rooms are now in bunded containers.
when on genset power the genset which is NOT running must have its sea suction and the exhaust valve shut due to a back flooding issue.
main engine crank breathers are to remain open at all times ( do not shut ) if these are shut during operation turbos will over pressurise and blow out seals, port and Strb valves are different but both valves are directional.
expansion tanks for main engines have been clean out and refilled. Please keep an eye on port expansion tank (possible coolant leak or consuming coolant port main engine).
I have notice this morning Friday 23/5/25 that both main engine exhaust valves were 75% shut. These valves are to remain open at all times and not to be shut during vessel shutdown or at any time.
exhaust leak found on port main engine on turbo v band, has been tightened up, seems to have fixed the leak.
gensets are being run day for day
port genset starter is a bit lazy, suspect the solenoid is on its way out. When you start port genset be sure to listen for the starter gear to throw back, if it does not throw back after a max of 4seconds hit the estop and fire it again. Maintenance are aware and new starter has been ordered.
we are only filling fuel to 80% due it inconsistency's with the high fuel level alarms, not alarming due to slosh in tank if only filled to 80%
during shutdown all engine sea suctions are to be isolated along with all battery isolators, genset exhaust are to be shut during shutdown as well.
battery charger in port engine room has been replaced.
ups under dash has been replaced due to lifepod failure
Weekly's are being conducted on Monday and morning shift crew will make sure these are completed prior to vessel handover with afternoon shift crew.
Search light installed and fitted by maintenance team
Header tank and expansion tank port side has been checked and all is ok no loss of coolant
port Stbd engine room fan grills extremely rusted with large holes throughout have MRF
